Know & Tell Friday (5th Week)

Today is the 5th Week of my "Know & Tell" meme, and I am excited that it is going well so far. I welcome new bloggers to join every week. I try to visit all the blogs of the people that participate, and I am just loving reading all the great answers to my questions :) If you do participate, please make sure to visit other bloggers that answer the questions on their own blogs... Blessings and have a very Merry Christmas next week!!!

Question 1 In the spirit of Christmas... Artificial or Real Christmas Tree? Well, I grew up with an artificial tree every Christmas, and when I was older my mom and dad decided to get a real tree (that was a real treat). When I got married we bought real trees, but have had some tree fiascoes (falling down more times than we can count :), so we now have an artificial tree that looks real if you work it. I like the artificial trees, but don't like how long it takes to assemble them, and I also love the real trees with their wonderful smells, but don't like the sap and the way that many of them prick my fingers... So, I guess I would say both (I should have said that in the first place:)
Question 2 If your life was a TV show...what would the title be?
(OK, I really like to think about these types of questions, so I am going to think a little more, and will post my answer when I come up with it)
Question 3 When you go to the movies what do you get from the Concession Stand?
Popcorn with butter a must... A Diet coke, and if I go for the candy (on a second visit to the stand) I will either get Red Twizzlers, or some kind of Chocolate (Buncha Crunch).
Question 4 Cosmetic that you cannot live without? There are probably several, but my new favorite is Smashbox's Cream Eyeliner in all different colors... I love them!!

Bonus Question (gotta think about this one...)
If you could go back in time to a pivotal point in your young life and give yourself one word of advice, and it would be guaranteed that you would follow the advice... What would you tell yourself... ( It is OK if you tell more than one thing :)
I really gave some thought to this question.... Years after accepting Christ into my life, I fell/jumped into the trap of legalism, back then I didn't even know what that meant. My Christian life was all about the rules, and how I was keeping them, or not keeping them. I would tell myself the truth I learned in my 20's. It is about a personal love relationship with Christ...Love Him first, and everything else will fall into place. I would also add that I would truly seek to know who I am in Christ... If I truly grasped my identity in Christ back at the age of 10, I could have saved myself so much trouble by not trying to please everyone in the world. I sought to keep everyone else happy or thinking well of me, and Christ fell into last place many times. Truly knowing who I am in Christ at a young age would have revolutionized my life.

Blessings to all my blogging friends...Merry Christmas!!!!

Question 1 In the spirit of Christmas... Artificial or Real Christmas Tree? Artificial. My husband had on more than one occasion rigged and nailed any real tree with fishing line to our walls. Needless to say, for happiness and sake of the family, we invested in an artifical. 3 pieces including lights is nice.

Question 2 If your life was a TV show...what would the title be?
Lives and Times of the Bratina Brats? I don't know....

Question 3 When you go to the movies what do you get from the Concession Stand?
Popcorn with butter a must... A coke
Question 4 Cosmetic that you cannot live without? Concealor and mascara

Bonus Question (gotta think about this one...)

I think I have turned out acceptable. Like all youth, I made some mistakes but never got into much trouble. That being said, I think we all grow and learn from our mistakes (or wew should) that is the beauty of life and living, to grow in Christ and bloom as the people he intends us to be. I would say, to answer the questio, the advice I would give myself is-what comes around goes around. Don't worry your mother. Live, Laugh and Love fully every day. Tell people how you feel-tomorrow is not gaurenteed. Cover your mouth when you cough and Be strong. Don't allow people to run over you (I have only gotten this as I approach 40..).

I enjoyed stopping by!

1. artificial - my son who is the professional athlete has serious asthma
2. looks like 7th Heaven...
feels like ER...acts like The Brady Bunch...with lots of childlike wonder like Barney...
3. buttered popcorn TUB
4. brush on eyebrows---no one told me that your eyebrows stopped growing when you became a certain age, ahem!
5. deal with the fray of your heart...i felt worthless much of my adult years but didn't know quite what to do with the feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, depression, and beating up on myself...i pushed them down and tried harder and worked harder at being an overcomer and crossing that imaginary spiritual line in the sand...I prayed harder, devoured the Word harder, served big time, very effective ministry...NO! that's not finding my rest in God---there were places in my heart that were not "at rest"---how can you be at rest in the deep places in your soul and not take a look at the jealous eye I had, the feelings of being left out always, the longings for someone to love me and come through for me...well, my beautiful God intervened and my advice to you is this---pay attention to what is stirring in your heart THIS MOMENT and deal with the fray of your heart...don't just slap a prayer or a verse on top of it...talk with someone about dealing with what tiny terrors you face in your heart of feeling that no one wants what you offer. I found some really good help in doing just that and I am falling forward. Matt 11:28 - Jesus says Come to Me you who are weary of living this life and I will give you rest. Nobody can do that but Jesus. He's knocking on all of our doors this Christmas Eve. I'm letting Him in and I know you will too! Sorry for the ramblings but you touch my soul Kim in the things you love. You have such a huge heart for your God! I love your humble words, always. My privilege and honor to be your friend! Much love to you this Christmas, Bev

You are so precious to me! Thank you for your sweet comment. I am really struggling with depression over here in Texas facing Christmas eve but I'm holding fast, clinging tight to HIM who holds our hand. I'm so curved in on myself at times. My sin has so surprised me. All I can do is cry out for mercy from our good God, our sovereign God, our merciful God! I have been really disappointed by someone close and I need to look at my 2% for the ball is always in my court. Hope you have a good Christmas---just wanted you to know that I am over here praying for you...Deut 7:6-8 His Love is all over you not cause you are strong right now or wise but just cause He loves you more than you can fathom. You are His treasured possession...no matter how we feel or what we do...my love to you and yours.
