365-#15

Oh my poor neglected blog...as far as writing goes... You know I have about 10 posts in my head ready to go... so much in my heart and this crazy mind of mine...I know once we get into the new house and finish packing up the old, my life will settle enough that I can hopefully get back to sharing about my journey through life with Christ... So for now, I am thankful for the 365 project and my memes...

Me and my boys... they keep me on my toes :) 365 people... I know that this is a old picture... I am still taking new pictures, but am so busy... For now if I don't get to post new pictures I will just post some of my favorites that are in my old files...

Know & Tell Friday

Another Friday, so another round of questions... Even if this is your first visit to my blog feel free to participate :) Just leave your answers in the comment section of this post, or feel free to copy and paste the button above and post your answers at your site :)

QUESTIONS

1. On a normal day...You just pulled out a load of laundry from your dryer, what would be the next thing you do? After you read my answer you will know what I am asking of you. On a normal day, I would take the load of laundry and lay it on my couch. That's it. It would probably lay on the couch until all the laundry was done, or it may stay on the couch until the next day. I so wish I was a person that would just take care of it right away, but I am making strides in this area :)

2. Have you seen all three movies from the Kendrick Brothers? Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel... If not, go out and rent them today. If so tell me what you thought of them. I own all three of them, and they are the best Christian movies I have ever seen...Each movie just kept getting better and better (Flywheel was the first movie).

3. Currently is there something in your life that you feel God wants you to give up or surrender to Him? At this point in my life I would have to say yes... I feel like I have issues with fear, food, and giving up some things that I know are not beneficial for me. Even though I am making small steps in all of these areas, it is more like one step ahead, a two steps back thing. But I know that I haven't given my all to prayer and reading God's Word about these issues, so I need to press on and let God's Word rule my heart and mind.

Would love to see your answers this week... If you haven't figured it out, my own personal answers are highlighted in different colors. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

A little blurry, but it does have water in it :) As soon as my life slows down I am going to really try to tackle the challenge pictures with more vigor and creativity :)

I know I haven't been posting much lately except for the 365 Project...which I like :) I am in the process of moving, and boy I am a bit overwhelmed :) Stick with me :)

This is part of a quote on this bench...you can see most of the name on the bottom of the person who made this quote... Who do you think it might be?

The quote: "The better part of one's life consists of his friendships"

Ok, for those of you that might visit my blog on some sort of regular basis, the 365 project is one that you post a picture a day, and you are suppose to take pictures everyday...In hopes to get better at taking pictures and trying new things, and also capturing the precious moments of life. I will still be doing my normal posts, but you will hopefully see a picture a day at my blog.

I still don't have my camera manual (it is packed away), but I am pushing all kinds of buttons on my camera, and the close up button gave me this cool picture. So close up indeed that you can tell my flowers are a little dry... Bad plant waterer that I am :)

Know & Tell Friday

Well, last week's Know & Tell went pretty well... I had a few people participate so I will try it again. The basic purpose of this meme is to help people in bloggyville get to know each other a little better. Last week, I forgot to answer my own questions, but this week I will.

Remember for now let's just answer the questions in the comment section of this post...later we may link up with your own personal sites...

Questions...

1. Have you ever been bitten by an animal? (let's only say yes if the bite was a serious one... I have been bitten before, but didn't need any medical attention, so I guess my answer to this question is no...) If yes, tell about it and what happened.

2. When are you at your best? Morning, noon or night? (My answer is late afternoon to night)

(Our challenge questions to help us in our walk with Jesus)

3. How is your Quiet Time at this present season in your life? (Quiet Time refers to the time you spend alone with God through prayer and reading of His word...Q.T. could have other elements, but prayer and Bible reading are the main focus) If you can give us a little example of when and where you do your Q.T. If you are struggling with having a Q.T. what can you do to develop a Q.T.?

Well, I look forward to reading your answers again this week... Blessings

My friend swallowed a bug while on our nature hike, and she is wondering why I would take a picture of that :) Also, I am counting this picture as the challenge for this week...she is wearing a turquoise shirt (or close to turquoise :)

Thankful Thursday

Well, it is Thursday again and life is Good :) I have much to be thankful for every week, but this week I some wonderful things to share...

-First and the biggest thanks of the week is that we sold our house!!! Sold it in 14 days in an economy that is not so great... Praise be to God, and I pray that my family never takes for granted the blessings that the Lord has given us...we are amazed at how God works :)

-I said goodbye to my best friend yesterday...she got to stay with me for 4 days and we had such a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement. PS. Thanks for teaching me to play "Hand & Foot"...it could become my new obsession :)

-I am thankful that my boys and I are adjusting well with our new summer schedule :)

-I am thankful for this awesome sermon I heard on "suffering for Christ" by Francis Chan... It is yet another piece of the puzzle that God is using to teach me about the subject of suffering in a Christian's life.

-Last, I am thankful for the verse that states... "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:9-10)

Know and Tell Friday (Giving it another go)

Hey Bloggy World... I am going to give my "Know & Tell" meme another go round. I led this meme over a year ago, and then I had to stop because I had too many other things going on...Anybody know what I am talking about? There were probably about 10-20 people that participated in the meme when I was hosting it at my site last time.

Because of this meme I was asked to write over at the "Internet Cafe", kind of doing the same thing, but just focusing in on one main question that would help others grow closer to Christ (hoping that would be the goal :). So, I thought I would try the "Know & Tell" meme out again to see if it fit a need at my blog. I was reminded this week that whatever I do it needs to be meaningful and most importantly honor Christ. So I will try the "K&T" meme here for a month and see what happens.

I am going to start out slow... I will ask two questions, one that will give us (blog community) a little insight into your personality, and a question that will address our personal journey with Christ. I also welcome people that maybe asking questions about God, and wanting to know more about Christianity.

Last, I normally come up with the questions on my own based on my life circumstances, but I do use questions from other books, and when I do I will reference where I found the questions. I assume that most of my participators are women, but if there are men that want to participate just let me know, and I will be more broad with my questions :)

(To start up, just answer the questions in the comment section, and later we may link up by directing others to your personal websites)

Questions...

1. What is the farthest place you ever travelled? (question from "Coke or Pepsi 3" book)

2. When was the first time you heard about Jesus? What was your initial response?

Thankful Thursday

Hey "TT" community... I will get right to my list today...Hoping you are all having a good week :)

-First, my best friend is coming up to see me on Friday, and she gets to stay until Tuesday. This was a surprise Mother's Day gift from my hubby. A great gift!!!
-I am thankful for the AWI (A Woman Inspired) conference that I have been able to attend online this week. Tomorrow is the last day. I just love the idea of a conference online... Webinar :)
-We are in the process of selling our home, and we are doing it on our own. We have had some very positive responses...again we try to stay focused and remember that it is the Lord's timing of when our house will sell.
-Although not perfected (never will be :) my summer schedule with the kids at home is working out pretty nicely.
-I am thankful that our Church's VBS is coming up soon... I get to take a leadership role for the Pre-K children... Our church does such a great job with VBS, and I am glad to be a part of it...Ok, this year our Church is calling our VBS, VBX (Vacation Bible eXperience) :)

Today's list is short and sweet, but I know I always have something...many things to be thankful for weekly. Blessings

2000 Years

Every time I listen to this song off Travis Cottrell's CD, Found I feel compelled to answer the questions that the song poses... The music to the song is beautiful, and I find the music helps to lift me to a place of worship and thinking about God. If you can, find the song and listen to the words with the music, but if not at least read the words below and ponder the questions from the song....

If I could see 2000 years ago
Travel back in time and walk in the Day when just one man turned this world upside down

If I could be a guest at the wedding, and Taste the wine that was water moments before
Would I realize what was really in store
That there would be so much more

Would I fall down and worship?
Leave all that I treasured behind?
For a chance to be closer To the Man who might Be the One who saves my life?

If I could hear His voice call to Lazarus Stand
and stare as my friend stumbles out of the tomb
Witness blind men see their first morning sky
Would I believe what He says to be true

If I was there the night soldiers took Him away
Would I flee the scene like most of His friends
Then watch on the cross what I thought was the end
What would I do then

Would I fall down and worship?
Leave all that I treasured behind?
For a chance to be closer To the Man who might Be the One who saves my life?

And what would it be like After three days gone by
Would I believe what they said Or wanna see with my own eyes
Put my hand on the scars
Only then realize My Lord, my God, alive

Will I fall down and worship? Leave all that I treasure behind? For a chance to be closer 'Cause He is still alive And the One who saves my life!

(I pasted and copied these lyrics...I think all the words are correct)

Photo session gone BAD...

Again, these are some older pictures that I scanned not too long ago... I only had 2 children at this point. I was trying to do this awesome photo shoot on my lawn, and you can see that it easily turned sour, but I still think the pictures are so cute... Look at Moose's face on the last shot... I love it....

Would love to see some of your teen days...let me know if you do a post :)
