Happy Birthday Moose

My Moose turned 11 this weekend... I can't believe I have an eleven year old. Actually if I had starting having children right after I was married I could have like a 16 year old now, but me having an eleven year old still blows my mind. I feel like my children get older, but I don't...well physically I am looking older, but in my mind I still feel like a 20 year old.
The Lord has taught me so much from being Moose's mom. Moose was chosen to be my child before time began. Most days I feel so ill equipped to be his mom, but I remember that God has chosen ME to be his mom, and God will equip me to raise Moose (and his brothers). Thank Goodness :)
So this weekend I am thankful that God blessed me with Moose eleven years ago... Moose, I love you, and I pray that you will love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength... If you do love God above all others, you will have a fulfilled life.
I love you...
Mommy

Happy Birthday Christina (My Fwend)!!!

Ok, my Fwend...since you were not actually here with me I took a picture of a picture of us when we were together :)
In this picture I am actually on the phone with you... this is what I have resorted to :)
This was a fun trip... we jumped off off big stones (even if they were only 1 foot off the ground)... I think this is the trip some big bird scared you in the park, and a bug flew into your mouth :) Can't wait for our next get together...

Happy Birthday my Fwend... I so wish I could be there with you in Florida to celebrate your birthday. However, I know that several of our friends and your family will make sure you have the bestest day :)

In the friendship arena, my heart has been so fulfilled!!! One major reason that fact is true is because of our friendship. I am so glad that about 10 years ago God began the work of knitting our hearts together, and I never could have imagined that you would be one of the most important godly influences on my life. You make me want to serve and love Jesus more and more...You make me want to push past my fears and be the person Jesus has called me to be. You are the Real Deal, and you are a glimpse to me of who Jesus is!!!

I am a better wife, parent, friend and Christ follower because of you. You are one of the few people I trust to fully speak truth into my life, no matter how painful it is. You are one of the people that I can trust will seek God's Word over man's truth. Your faith blows me away (I think you might have the gift of faith). Although you may not always be sure of the "how to" take up your cross... I know that you are always willing to. (You are also one of the only people I will let correct me with my grammar and spelling... your the best :) No I know you're the best)

I have watched you totally transform over the last 10 years... You are looking more like Christ everyday, and I truly believe you will hear "Well done thy good and faithful servant" one day when you cross over into eternity.
Love you and Happy Birthday.... Kimmy

2 Days in a Row

I am posting two days in a row...that is a feat considering my previous 2 week track record of posting. I actually had another random thought I wanted to go on yesterday's post :) Before the thought, make sure to read yesterday's post so you can sign up for the book giveaway...I just love to give things away...it makes me happy :)

Now to my point of today's post. Last week I watched the Duggar Family special episode where their 19th child was born 3 months early. First, I wanted to say that this post is not meant to open up a discussion on whether you feel the Duggars choice to have an unlimited amount of children is right or wrong... I have met people on both sides of this issue. However, I think no matter what you feel about the number of children the Duggars have, you can still appreciate their faith in God. I think I could learn much from the Duggar family.

But I write today to mention a part of the special that really touched my heart and encouraged me. It was when Jim Bob had just received the news that Michelle would have to have Josie via an emergency C-section. Both Jim Bob and Michelle knew how risky the surgery could be...they both realized that the baby and even Michelle could die in this process. The cameras caught Jim Bob right before surgery, and you could tell by the look on his face that he was shaken and afraid. However, in the midst of uncertainty and fear Jim Bob said something like " we praise God for all the good things He has brought into our lives, and we are going to praise Him in this trial too (my paraphrase, but you get the point). That comment reminded me of the "Facing the Giants" movie ("we will praise Him when we win, and we will praise Him when we lose") Out of all the Duggar shows I have watched I think that was probably one of the best glimpses into the faith walk of their family.

So, if you saw that episode what are your thoughts??? If you have not, you might want to try to catch it on rerun :)

Random Post and a Giveway :)

I am so glad to be posting today... I just love my little blog, but have neglected it lately because life has been so crazy... So what has been going on? So glad you asked.

-My youngest visited the ER and stayed one day in the Ped ICU due to a severe reaction to a medicine...there is a long story behind this one...maybe I will share it soon. Everything is OK now :)
-At the same time I was dealing with the above situation, my family just moved from one house to another... I was very fragile for about 2 weeks. Feeling better now.
-OK, I am in the long process of moving and emptying boxes...I love our new house, I just don't yet feel like it is home. The more boxes I empty the better I feel.
-With all the craziness above I neglected my Quiet Time with the Lord, and for about 2 weeks I felt like I was sinning 24/7. Some very outward sins, but mostly sin in my heart and mind. During this time, I have realized how very much I need God... Yes, I know I need God, but I see that I need him every minute or else I just turn into someone I don't want to be.
-Reviewing an awesome study of 2Peter that was done by Nancy Leigh DeMoss... Oh the spiritual insights and wisdom that I am learning from a woman of faith and integrity like Nancy Leigh DeMoss. I cannot wait to share what I am learning...
-Currently I am in the process of losing my voice...my hubby says I sound like a teenage boy going through puberty :) It was a challenge today to teach my Pre-K class... One thing I realize through this experience is how much I like to talk... Not surprising to anyone who knows me.
-I am totally loving Beth Moore's new book on insecurity...I know I struggle with insecurity, but after reading the first couple of chapters I have realized that I struggle with insecurity more than I thought. You see I struggle with pride and selfishness and I just thought insecurity was kind of the opposite of pride and selfishness....Not true...

I told you the list was random :)

I want to end this post with a Giveaway... I am giving away a book I bought and read (it is practically new) called "Lessons From San Quentin...". I know you are probably very intrigued :) Actually, it is an awesome redemption story... I love reading the stories of people who meet Jesus and it changes the direction of their lives... You will like this story...

Just leave a comment and I will enter you in the Giveaway. I will pick a winner next Friday.

Until the next post...

Age Old Problem-New book

I recently purchased Beth Moore's new book, "So Long Insecurity (you've been a bad friend to us)". Beth is going to go through the book with the LPM online community. She is asking those that bought the book to read along with her, and then weekly or biweekly she will ask the online community questions that deal with the subject matter of the book. If you are interested, click here. Beth will post her first assignment tomorrow.

I would like to think that I don't really struggle with insecurity, but if I am completely honest with myself... I do. I think the "I" word can sneak up on me in a variety of situations, and I don't normally realize it until I have done something either totally stupid or totally sinful (actually the totally stupid is probably totally sinful too).

God has called us...called me to live a life of freedom, and being insecure is not being free. I want to be free.

So I will leave you with some questions... Do you struggle with insecurity? What do you think the root cause is?

I'm Back...

I feel like this little old blog has been neglected lately, but a lot has been going on in my household. My little one was in the hospital this weekend (he is fine now). The crazy thing is that the day he went to the hospital was the very day that we moved into our new house. My husband reminded me that we just went through 2 situations that are listed as most stressful. I believe it.

I want to write more about both situations later, but I just wanted to say that through all of the situations above I know God is with me. Even, when I can't sense Him close there is something that reminds me that He is there. Thank you Lord!!!

A quick word... Deb won the book I was giving away. Thanks for entering, and I will be giving more things away throughout the year...

Blessings
