You're children will learn right along with Caleb and Cassie that God's ways are best--and that even as kids, they can live for His glory every day. Recommended for ages 5 to 9. I heard about this book while I was listening to the "Family Life Today" broadcast. I was so excited after listening to the broadcast that I ordered the book right away (well, I couldn't find it at first). I am on Chapter 5 at present, and it just warms my heart when I ask my kids the questions from the book, and then they answer me back with truths from God's Word. The amazing thing to me is that they remember the answers even if I have not asked them the questions in awhile...

Thankful Thursday

-This week I am thankful for my Fwend who I know I can call on anytime to speak truth into my circumstances...she will tell me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. I had a thought that she reminds me of John the Baptist (I know Fwend, Paul maybe, but John the Baptist?). There is this verse in "John 1:23 that says... John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.' " Of course John had a very specific call on his life...to make known Jesus to the world, but I had the thought that my Fwend in the same way points me and all that she comes in contact with to the Lord :) Thank you Fwend.

-I have been faced with some ugly realities of sin in my life these past couple of weeks, and although it is never easy or delightful to see my sin in all its ugliness, it is beneficial for growth in my walk with the Lord.

-I have a new friendship over the last year or so that is becoming closer. I really believe that the Lord has good and beneficial things in store for this new friendship.

-My two oldest boys had FABULOUS first weeks of school last week, and this week looks good too.

-My hubby has had new business come his way, and expectations have been exceeded at his new job. He is giving credit to God for this :)

Thankful Thursday (Special Edition)

Today I am going to post a little story about my oldest son, "Moose" and let that be my "TT" post. I am so thankful for Moose and how God made him. For those who don't know, my oldest son has Autism, which just makes this story even a little more special.

"Moose and the Balloon Master Clown"

Our family went to Perkin's last night because it was "Kids Eat Free", and when you have 3 kids and they can eat free you want to take advantage of an opportunity like that. Being that it was a night for kids Perkins had a clown that was walking around to tables where kids were present. This clown was not just your regular old clown, he was a balloon animal (and other types of things) making clown.

I was hoping that the clown would get to our table before our food arrived, and he did. "Moose" was on the outside so the clown asked Moose what he wanted him to make for him. Of course he didn't know, but after the clown gave him some suggestions he chose a heart. Not a sword, or beastly animal, but a heart. That's my Moose...That kid has a big heart, and it was perfect that he chose the heart. I think his choice even surprised the clown for a moment, but he began to make Moose a heart.

During the heart making process Moose asked the clown many questions. We found out his name, where he lives, and other misc information. The clown was being very sweet with Moose, and finished the heart and then began making "Terminator's" butterfly (my boys were not making their typical choices that night). As "B" the Clown was working on Terminator's balloon our food arrived. I was not sure if we should eat in front of the clown, but as soon as the food arrived Moose said we need to pray so we could eat.

Well, realizing that "B" the Clown was going to be at our table a bit longer (he still had to make "Snake's" balloon) we decided to eat, and I asked Moose to pray. I sure wish that I could recall his prayer, but I will tell you what I remember... As Moose began to pray, "B" the Clown took his hat off and bowed his head... I didn't make direct eye contact with him, but I just thought that was precious. Moose prayed for the food, his dad, and other things, but what touched me most was that he prayed for "B" the clown and that his balloons would not pop. Whoa...What a moment...

Moose ended his prayer, and then looked up at "B" and told him that Jesus was God's son, and that Jesus died on the cross so we don't have to go to Hell. My hubby and I made eye contact, and just let Moose finish what he was saying. I don't remember what Snake said, but he chimed in with agreement to what Moose was saying. "B" was gracious and received the message well. I could just sense, although I was not making eye contact with him that it meant something to him. I think and I could be wrong, but what Moose said really touched him.

"B" the Clown finished up with the balloons, and we made small talk with him while we were eating. I also remember Moose giving "B" a compliment about how well he makes the balloon art. Again, from his response I think "B" was touched.

You know I thought we went to Perkins last night because we were getting some free meals, but the more I think about it I think we were there for the "Balloon Master" (which we called him) Clown. I believe Moose was a vessel for the Lord last night, and I just look forward to seeing how God will use Moose in the future. Blessings come in all sorts of ways...Keep your eyes open :)

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful that my two youngest boys' "Kung Fu Panda" birthday party went fabulously well!!! I can't post all the fun pictures because other children are in the pictures, but I will tell you we had about 9 little "Kung Fu" masters running around showing off their best moves... Everybody was truly "Kung Fu Fighting" :)

-On another note, I am very thankful that my hubby's second week at his new job is going well. He is putting in a lot of hours, but he is enjoying what he is doing.
- I am thankful that I was able to purchase the John MacArthur Study Bible. If you have been reading my posts in the last few months, you know I have been challenged to get into God's Word, and I have heard wonderful things about the MacArthur study Bible as a tool to help me understand God's Word better.

Word of Mouth

This is my first "Word of Mouth" post. What is a "WOM" post you ask? Well, I'm continually on the search for good, preferably great Christian and family friendly resources. These resources can be books, movies, games, or anything that may draw you closer to Christ and your family. In the scheme of things, I am not a professional reviewer of resources, but just an ordinary woman willing to share her opinion on things that have helped me in my Christian walk. I hope that what I share with you will be beneficial to you and your family.

So with great excitement I present my first "WOM" post... Below you will be able to preview the official trailer for the new movie, "Fireproof" being released at theaters on September 26th. "Fireproof" is the third movie to be released from Sherwood Pictures . "Flywheel", and the ever so popular "Facing the Giants" were the first two movies made by Sherwood Pictures (If you have not seen these two movies yet, run out today and rent or purchase them!!!). The story of how these movies came to be is a wonderful story that I do not have time to explain in this post, so click the link above to Sherwood Pictures to find out more information.

For the third movie the Kendrick Brothers (writers, directors and producers of the movie) turn their focus to the marriage relationship, and from viewing the trailer you will not be disappointed. I could give you more of the storyline here, but I will let the movie trailer speak for itself. Thankful Thursday

Another Thankful Thursday... Thanks for hosting this great meme every week

-My husband came home from his job training this past Friday... He left on July 6th, and returned August 1st.
-God used the time away from each other to help our marriage grow stronger...
-I was able to attend the "Living Proof Simulcast" with Beth Moore this past Friday and Saturday. I am still trying to process everything I feel the Lord showed me from the weekend.
-A good friend sold her house after a long period of time.
-Celebrating Terminator turning five in July, and Snake turning 7 in August. We will have a double b/day party for them this weekend.
-So thankful that God helps me start over when I have had a bad day :)

Ultimate Love (God's Love)

UPDATE: I listened to part 2 today, and continued crying... A must listen... I am ordering the CD for my Small Group to listen to...

I was decorating my classroom today and listening to Christian Radio too. Around the 1:00 hour, Family Life Today (Give a Shout out to my Friend who works with Family Life :) radio program came on. The title of today's show was...Forgetting What Lies Behind (I think that was it) about John and Donna Bishop. OK, I won't tell you the whole story because you need to listen to it being told by the Bishops. In 1995 John Bishop came down with a severe case of meningitis, and basically he has no memory (except what he is told) before 1995. The Bishops began to share their story, and I can tell you I almost was on weeping mode, not crying mode in the short 20 minutes the Bishops were on air. For the next two days, the interview will continue with the Bishops. WHAT A POWERFUL STORY!!! OUR GOD IS GREAT!!! You will cry when John describes how he knew he was a Christian, even though he had no memory...Get your tissues..

LIVING PROOF LIVE (Recap)

MAYBE TODAY (MONDAY) I WILL GET TO THE RECAP...

Our God is big!!! Why don't I recognize this truth more often? I have to confess that I don't always believe God... Really, I could say that more often I don't believe God... How do I know? If I truly believed God my life would be different, DRASTICALLY different. That is so weird to say that because I am such a different person than I was 10 years ago...5 Years ago, 3, 2, 1 year ago, and yet I find myself somewhat stuck in my relationship with Christ... STUCK!!! I know I thought this was suppose to be a LPL recap...it will be, but I think after tonight's lesson I just realized (for what feels like the 1000th time) that I am full of unbelief when it comes to God and His Word. Forgive me Jesus... I want to be different, or at least I think I do...

It is late for me so I need to go to bed so I can get up early for part two of Beth's message from the Lord. I will recap tomorrow the things that the Lord showed me...I just felt like confessing my sin on the blog tonight...
