3 What is your response?:
1. What was your best beauty product of 2011? As a homeschool mom/taxi driver to 3 kids, I have given up all beauty products...I seriously digressed in the area of "beauty" in 2011, but I vow to try Kim's eye liner...I need a beauty product that will change my life... ;-)
2. What was your favorite book of 2011? I'm not sure I read a book in 2011 that wasn't the Bible or a textbook, but I did start, "It Happened on the Way to War", by Rye Barcott, over Christmas break. I'm not very far along, but it has been a very interesting read so far.
3. What was your favorite Bible Study you completed in 2011? Again, no formal bible studies, but I am working through Isaiah using a commentary and my inductive study bible. I love the book of Isaiah and am looking forward to learning more through it.
4. What was your favorite Christmas gift you received or gave (or both)? I was very happy to receive a laptop for Christmas...hoping I can utilize it to be more effective in my "down-time"...you know, waiting on kids at practice, waiting between games...
5. What was one thing that God taught you in 2011? That I have an obligation to confront sin in fellow believers and that I am to live for the approval of God and not of man. Since I abhor confrontation and it makes me literally sick to my stomach, this has been a tough lesson for me to learn. I'm still learning...
6. What was one of your toughest moments of 2011? Confronting sin in another believer.
7. What Bible verse encouraged or changed you in some way in 2011? Galations 1:10, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ." In the margin of my bible next to this verse I have written, "we become sevants to whomever's approval we are trying to get."
8. What was one of your biggest accomplishments in 2011? Becoming more self-less. Don't get me wrong, I have a huge journey ahead of me in this area, but I feel like I made some strides in this area of my life.
9. What was one of your greatest family memories of 2011? Our first family visit to the Smoky Mountains...hiking and whitewater rafting.
10. Spiritually speaking, what is one thing you will change in 2012? My desire in 2012 is to live more sacrificially...actually sacrificing for Christ. I was struck with the enormity of Christ's sacrifice for me this Christmas season, but was largely unable to identify real tangible ways that I sacrifice for Him in my day-to-day life.
